The final stage of the 2009 Tour of Britain will take place on an iconic circuit at the heart of London on September 19th,
using the same course that kicked off the 2008 Tour in front of over 120,000 spectators.
The photo to the right is one of the many photos I snapped at this event last year,
which was a brilliant day out for any cycling fan!
Before the professionals take to the circuit 1,000 cyclists get the chance to ride two laps of the actual
route of the final stage to welcome The Tour of Britain to the country’s capital and raise money for The Prostate Cancer Charity.
We are happy to say that we
have been accepted onto this short event and we shall be sporting our OpenPACT kits as we cycle round a
strangely quiet London!
We made it! (London to Paris 2009)
Posted on June 09, 2009 by Tony and John

300 miles, four days and numerous “undulations” after leaving London we arrived in Paris with 119 other
cyclists completing the London to Paris June 2009 challenge. Despite a gruelling first day and waking up dreading day two we
both had an amazing time and met so many fabulous people which we were sorry to leave behind on our return to London.
Our route took in some lovely scenery and some historic sites including a brave charge around the Arc de
Triomphe and a finish by the Eifel Tower. Thanks to everyone who sponsored us for this exhausting ride, we have raised a great
deal of much needed funds for two worthy charities.
Check out our photo gallery for some great photos of us and all the great people we met!

Kits have arrived
Posted on May 31, 2009 by Tony
At last, our kits have arrived. Although not exactly how we designed them due to seams etc we are happy enough that they will get our messages across
and they look pretty good!
Only a few days to go now and all our training is over. Lets hope we good some good weather and tail winds!!
Finally, thanks again to Harley Davidson (Norwich Chapter) for sponsoring us and
having a cool logo for the kit!

Breakfast With Bumfrey!!!
Posted on May 25, 2009 by Tony
Wow, tomorrow we are on BBC Radio Norfolk on the
Stephen Bumfrey show.
Not sure what it's going to sound like, but I imagine it will be nicely edited so we don't sound too stupid!
Tune in tomorrow at 7:00am on 95.1 or on online here.
Hackers are sad!
Posted on May 23, 2009 by Tony
Hmm, when I was a kid I used to play football, go fishing and ride bikes. Seems kids now go round hacking websites!
Unfortunatly we lost a good amount of recent posts due to this and I did not bother backing them up like a dipstick.
In short we are both back in training now and have done some 60 and 70 mile rides to get the legs moving again.
Check one of the rides here.
3 Weeks and still no training!
Posted on May 11, 2009 by Tony
Depressed isn't the word, my knee is still not allowing me onto my bike. 3 weeks left to train for 300 miles, Brilliant!
The only good thing is we are taking the shirts and designs in to get printed tomorrow. Wonder what is going to go wrong with that!
More bad news!
Posted on May 6, 2009 by Tony
So, I phoned the company we are doing the event with to see what would happen If my knee was too bad to ride to Paris with. The nice
lady on the telephone gave me some great news, for only £50 each we could be moved to the September trip giving us 4 months to
get some propper training in. 'Excellent' I said. John was over the moon with this as his training has been non-existant with his fractured
elbow, kids and part time degree course (I don't know how he does it).
This morning John phoned up to inform the company we would like to take them up on their kind offer. Well, the information we had been
given wasn't entirely correct. The £50 we were required to pay to move route had risen to £388, which multiplied by two is just too much
for us to contemplate.
We need some good news to cheer us up!
I don't believe it!
Posted on May 5, 2009 by Tony
After all the nasty names I have called John for being so very stupid and getting an injury before our ride to Paris I have gone
and achieved something similar.
I decided long long ago that I would quit football six weeks before our trip to make sure I did not get any nasty injuries
to ruin my training. Of course seven weeks before departure, I get slammed in the knee by a huge and determined striker. At first there was
no real issue and I went on several training sessions before the pain really started. It has been a over week since I have been
out on my bike and it's going to be at least another week or more until I can start training again.
Big downside to this is there are only 4 weeks until the ride!!!!
Friday 13th Curse Strikes!
Posted on March 13, 2009 by John
Unfortunately, on the morning of Friday 13th, I fell foul to the curse and had a bike accident on the way to work.
My bike slipped away from underneath me as I was negotiating a round-about resulting in cuts, bruised muscles and a
fractured elbow.
This couldn’t have come at a worse time as we were planning to launch ourselves headfirst into our training, I now
have to wait up to six weeks before I can get out on the road. I do plan however to have a few sessions on the turbo
although this will be purely time in the saddle rather than a proper workout as I won’t be able to change gears!!
With God’s grace I will make an earlier recovery..
Sponsorship!

Absolutely brilliant news, Harley Davidson in Norwich have agreed to sponsor us for our ride from London to Paris this summer.

Early kit designs, shown above, will be printed up soon.
Quiz Night Success
Posted on March 01, 2009 by Tony
The quiz kindly hosted at the Horse & Dray last thursday was extremely successful with 13 teams taking part.
We managed to raise a fantastic £313 from entry fees and a sell-out raffle.
We would like to say a BIG thank you to to the Horse & Dray for hosting the quiz and also donating raffle prizes!
Also thanks to Harley Davidson (Norwich Chapter)
for donating offical Harley T-shirts and to the Tea Lounge on Ber Street for donating Tea for Two!
Finally, thank you so much to all our friends who turned up to play and make the whole night a big success!!!
Just Giving site live!!!
Posted on December 19, 2009 by Tony
It has taken ages to register the charity, but the JustGiving website is now active
so we can receive online donations for our London to Paris cycle ride!
Visit the site here and help our cause: www.justgiving.com/openpact
New header images
Posted on December 07, 2009 by Tony
Thought I would create some more header images to be displayed randomly accross
the site as it is way too cold to do any real cycling and my exercise bike is broken.
And then there was HTML

To keep track of how we are doing in the fundraising and to give everyone who is
interested information and photos of our progress we decided to create a new website.
As you can see it is quite simple and knocked together rather quickly, but hopefully
it will prove useful for all our fundraising events including the London to Paris event
next year!
